Originally financed in 1927 by actor-producer-director Charlie Chaplin, this hotel is surrounded by million-dollar estates and the San Ysidro foothills. Conceived as a getaway for Chaplin and his friends, the Inn is now filled with reminders of its Golden Era heritage. Guests are served a complimentary, continental breakfast down in the lobby. After that, they might want to relax by the pool, sit in the whirlpool spa, or enjoy a morning workout in the onsite fitness facility. The Inn offers complimentary use of bicycles to explore the area, or guests can just hop on the trolley to the pier, the mission, and beyond.
