Description:
Talk about a central location! The Stratosphere Tower Hotel is the closest hotel on the Strip to the sites and sounds of downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience. The 113-story Stratosphere Tower is the tallest building west of the Mississippi and a destination unto itself. Besides an observation deck at the top that looks out over the mountain-ringed desert valley and a nighttime neon sea, the Tower is home to a revolving restaurant and a thrill ride the Big Shot that whisks riders up and down the tower. The Stratosphere boasts a 100,000-square-foot casino featuring slots, video poker, backjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, pai gow, keno and a sports book. When not gambling, guests can work out at the hotel’s fitness center or take their families to the full-sized swimming pool on the 8th-floor terrance, where they can marvel at the sweeping views of the Strip. The pool complex also contains basketball hoops, volleyball net and spa tub. For the daring, the Stratosphere also features Beach Club 25, an adults-only pool area with topless bathing. A health-and-beauty spa offers body and facial treatments and in-room or poolside massages. The hotel contains two video-game arcades, including a large one encircling the tower’s base, where 50 shops also call home.
Guest rooms feature jewel-tone fabrics to complement sand-colored walls. In addition to 24-hour room service, guests can pick from Top of the World Restaurant, located 1,000 feet above Las Vegas in the needle. The restaurant’s signature dish is the Chocolate Stratosphere dessert shaped like the tower. Other offerings include the Crazy Armadillo Oyster Bar, the Courtyard Buffet, Roxy’s Diner, Lucky’s Café, Hamada Asian Village and Fellini’s Ristorante Italiano.
The Stratosphere will appeal to budget-minded travelers and families because of its value priced accommodations and moderately priced buffet.
