The Abbatial Saint Germain is a family run hotel occupying a classically Parisian 18th century building on the Left Bank’s prestigious Boulevard Saint Germain, less than 200 meters from Notre Dame Cathedral, and three blocks from Place St-Michel. Individually decorated in a classic style with rich colors, the 43 air-conditioned guestrooms have and large windows and all include cable television, minibars, safes and telephones with voicemail.
Despite the addition of modern conveniences such as an elevator and air conditioning, many original 18th-century features remain, including the authentic stone vaulted ceiling in the salon where a buffet breakfast is served daily for an extra charge. The hotel was refurbished in 2003 and has a new lounge where guests can browse the complimentary daily papers. The hotel operates a 24 hour front desk service and informed staff can provide local and tourist information. The hotel is on the edge of the lively Latin Quarter and close to many of the city’s main attractions. For a quiet stroll, the Luxembourg Gardens are 800 meters away and for unobstructed panoramic city views, visitors can take the glass elevator to the ninth floor caf? of the Institute du Monde Arabe four blocks away - a more sedate option than Notre Dame’s stairs. Charles de Gaulle airport is 25 kilometers and approximately a 45 minute journey away. The RER B train from the airport runs to Saint Michel, just a few hundred meters from the hotel. Alternatively, shuttle services run to the city center and taxis are always available outside the arrivals terminal.
