Originally the Lord Balfour, a historic art-deco hotel from 1940, the Wave is located on in the middle of the action on Ocean Drive, near Lummus Park and the Beach. The Wave has modern conveniences and still retains its original, classic look, and the neon sign that proclaims it the”Lord Balfour”. Once inside, guests will be impressed with the stylish lobby, designed by Italian designer Romi Ferretti (who also designed the guest rooms). A lush, tropical courtyard in the middle of the property offers a great place to relax, enjoy a drink, and hang out with other guests. As this hotel caters to a lively, young adult clientele, there’s usually something going on there.
The guest rooms are small, but stylishly decorated. They have custom Italian furnishings and feature an extended range of amenities which includes CD player, digital safe, honor mini-bar, spa-style bathrobe, Murano glass lamps,”wave” sound machine and more. Guests are offered a complimentary, buffet-styled breakfast, and free Internet access in the lobby. The onsite bar is a great place to enjoy a drink, though guests will ample choices for dining and entertainment just outside the door. The staff is known for its hospitality, as well.
